Narrative

The subject is evidently shown as the government plan to eliminate the poor( mostly the minority) in America. As a result they provide a day where all crimes are acceptable, even the most major crime murder. This obviously has connotations of a typical thriller movie.

Character

The main character is a female senator who has very strong opinions on certain people which makes her an outgoing person. This is a key persona most thriller movie characters have for sure. In addition there are the characters that by stand what they witness so they do not intervene in anyway. Most thriller movies have these type of people too.

Iconography

The first few seconds of the trailer show a traumatising scenario which has connotations of the genre :thriller. gun shooting, car chases, blood, gore, crimes etc. The subject of the government doign such a thing may have indications of a thriller movie.

Setting

 The setting takes place in a somewhat safe location. however it turns out not to be as they are betrayed by a certain group of people. The idea of the safe place not being so safe makes the audience feel thrilled at how this can be.
